James Matthew Henderson, Sr.

For more than a quarter century, it has been my privilege to provide legal counsel and courtroom representation to vindicate the federal constitutional and civil rights of individuals across the Nation.

My clients have included ministers, housewives, home schooled teens, students in public schools, and many others.  Their matters have involved the right to assemble, to pray, to protest, to share their views by spoken word and in print.  Sometimes they have been sued by others for their speech and demonstration activities; other times, they needed to sue government agents and or agencies to prevent interference with those important federal constitutional and civil rights.

One hallmark of my representation has been client care.  I bring to the practice of law and the representation of clients my real-world experience having been a defendant in a civil law suit.  I know what it is like to have been wrongfully sued and faced the threat of interference with my rights of freedom of speech.  Thanks to great counsel and a judge that obeyed the Constitution, that threat was defeated.  But, importantly, in the process, I experienced many of the kinds of litigation related realities that clients find so difficult and frustrating.  That perspective allows me to help you understand exactly what you are facing in a civil case.

I am admitted to practice law in Kentucky (No. 82072) (inactive), the District of Columbia (No. 452639) (inactive status), and in North Carolina (No. 49845).  In addition, I am authorized to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the US Courts of Appeal for the First, Second, Fourth, Sixth, Eighth, Tenth and DC Circuits, and before the US District Courts for Western Kentucky, the District of Columbia, Southern Indiana, and Colorado.
